Fragility Index Chart

World War I (1914-18) saw fragility jump to an index of 33 and World War II to 46.8. After mid-century peace, fragility fell but has risen again, reaching 58.6 today and still rising. This upward trajectory and record-high fragility levels mean that society’s current anxiety and despair reflect real historic stresses, not just gut feelings, across all dimensions.

With Intervention by all sixteen industry sectors collaborating on a engineered path forward using new AI tools and development of new technologies specifically geared to lowing disruption will effectively lower the fragility index. This will have to be a primary focus for companies moving forward in order to serve the best interest of society as a whole, thwarting off the eventuality of massive world conflict, economic and civic breakdown, and/or ecological disasters.
